Over time, blend door actuators wear out. The small gears inside them can strip, the motor can fail, or the actuator can lose calibration. If one side does not respond when the temperature setting is changed, the blend door actuator or door itself becomes a strong suspect.

A proper inspection may include:

  • Measuring vent temperatures on driver and passenger sides
